Meet Steve Parker, the Workshop Manager at Knaresborough Engineering. With a professional journey spanning nearly 13 years within the company, Steve started as a general labourer and support operative on the workshop floor. Gradually ascending through all departments, he gained invaluable insights into laser cutting, folding, fabrication, and polishing. Currently holding the position of Workshop Manager for almost five years, Steve brings a wealth of hands-on experience to the role.
Beyond overseeing the workshop staff, ensuring their well-being, and cultivating a collaborative environment focused on efficiency, Steve closely collaborates with the production team. Together, they ensure a constant flow of work, optimise schedules, allocate resources efficiently, and anticipate potential bottlenecks to ensure smooth operations.
Additionally, as a Workshop Manager, Steve is entrusted with the responsibility of keeping the directors well-informed. This includes providing regular updates on ongoing projects, addressing challenges, and presenting potential solutions to keep them informed about the workshop’s pulse.
Beyond the workshop, Steve’s life remains vibrant. While cherishing moments with his dynamic duo of daughters who effortlessly keep him on his toes, he holds a fervent passion for MotoGP and F1, coupled with a broad appreciation for all forms of motorsport.
