Dad-of-three Jason joined us at KE last summer after a 26-year career at Econ Engineering in Ripon. Having formerly worked night shifts undertaking heavy industrial work, he’s enjoying a different, more technical role, which sees him problem-solving and performing more precision tasks. It has been a good move for Jason, who says he loves working with us and being part of a team of great lads.
He also enjoys the work-life balance that his job now affords him. Besides being able to spend quality time with his partner and three children, Jason is now able to devote more time to other activities. He has a passion for pyrography – the art of burning wood to create patterns or images – and is the founder of Wud, a company that produces bespoke handmade wood items.
Sport plays an important role in Jason’s life. He and his sons are big Leeds United fans, but it’s not only as a spectator that Jason gets involved – he’s out there on the pitch too.
A former coach with Brazilian Soccer Schools in Harrogate, he now channels his skills into kids’ rugby as a Level 2 coach at Harrogate RUFC. Having coached his own sons, whom he encouraged onto the rugby pitch at the age of five, Jason sees his players right through the ranks from U5s to U16s and onto Colts, the stepping stone to adult rugby. He won the English RFU (Rugby Football Union) Coach of the Month award a couple of years ago. Jason also enjoys playing the game still, and takes part in friendlies with Harrogate Vets. When there’s time, he likes a weekend away with his partner, to relax… or not – on a recent break, Jason’s partner was going skydiving!
Although he’s relatively new at KE, Jason is already a fully integrated member of our team. His precision, professionalism and work ethic are greatly appreciated by us all. He’s a talented and popular addition to the company.
