Meet Steve Webster, a proud Leeds lad, who brings a wealth of experience to his role as a support operative for the Laser and Press Brake operators at Knaresborough Engineering.
In his capacity as a support operative, Steve plays a crucial role in the daily operations, focusing on tasks such as softening and deburring laser-cut parts, as well as handling loading and unloading in the goods in/out area using the forklift or overhead crane.
Steve is also responsible for overseeing material stock levels and ensuring a steady supply of gas for the laser cutter and the welders. His cross-training includes operating the laser, enabling him to step in and support the laser operator when needed.
Despite his relatively short tenure of four months with Knaresborough Engineering, Steve’s engineering journey spans over 25 years, providing him with a diverse skill set that he brings to his current role.
What Steve finds most enjoyable about his job is its incredible variety. Each day brings new challenges, and the friendly work environment from top to bottom makes the job even more engaging and motivating.
Outside of work, Steve unwinds through painting and drawing. Quality time with friends and family is a cherished pastime, and activities like walking and reading bring him joy. With one granddaughter and another one on the way, Steve is gearing up for some exciting babysitting adventures! Lastly, his passion for football remains a constant source of enthusiasm.
